You should start a start-up.
What’s a successful life outcome for you? Could be different for you than others. You’re currently working at Amazon and pursuing other big tech. What else do you want? Lol
Yeah, I know it's subjective, so I kept it open it as I'm interested to hear everyone thinks. Also, was reached out instead, thus landing in this weird position...
Man i wish I studied something in tech instead. Other engineering degrees outside cs blows. You seem set ! Most people i heard do MBAs full time for the network
don't be hard on yourself! engineering is one of them most challenging disciples so congrats to surviving all that
Also, planning to get an MBA soon, so not sure if making the jump will adversely affect my chances too lol
What are the roles exactly?
I’d focus on the stock and vesting schedule. But you’re young and will want to jump around. Don’t worry about setting yourself up right now get the best experience and build a strong network. Money will come
Yeah true, much needed. On hindsight, unless the gains are significant, the difference will probably taper off, so more weight should be focused on other inputs like interests in the work, industry longevity, other more intangible but salient aspects
L4 to L5 bump at Amazon isn't much. The big bump is from L5 to L6, where your base goes upwards of 120k. If you think you like the work you're doing more than what the other companies offer, stay put. If you want diverse experience, leave.
FYSA L5 can be well above 120K as well
Rising Star
Focus on abilities to be concise and present info in an easily digestible way. And on beginning with your central question instead of throwing it in at the end :)
Just saw this and wondering which path did you take? I'd consider Google or staying at L5 probably.
