Anyone interested in PCS work? Please DM!
Hi all,
Do firms match offers from other Big 4s for campus hires? I’ve received a campus offer from both KPMG and EY. I’m more interested in the EY offer, but they are paying 3k less than KPMG.
Would it be a bad move to let them know about the other offer and try negotiating? I feel it wont make a difference in the long run, but at the same time I don’t want to leave any money on the table if possible.
Thanks!

Hi all,
I’m looking to relocate to Seattle. Does anyone know if any of the Big 4 are still recruiting campus hires to start in Summer/Fall 2023? I’m open to either Audit or Tax, but I have internship experience in Tax.
I applied and received an offer at a Big 4 in San Francisco (campus hire), but I’ve decided Seattle is the better fit for me as it will be closer to my hometown and family in Vancouver.
Thanks!

Make friends/do good work for people above you in case they have any say in layoffs, keep a positive attitude about the future of the company, be someone that everyone in the office likes (i.e. "we can't let go of so-and-so, that would kill the morale of the office!"), volunteer for projects/company initiatives, make yourself a go-to person for a certain software or skill.
Be a top performer and you’ll never have to worry about losing your job.
Not true. Layoffs were very indiscriminate in 08'. However, it's entirely out of your control if you're a top performer
Try to get dirt on high level management and you’ll always be secure.
Bankruptcy, insolvency, restructuring work.
Get your CPA and network. CPAs are in extremely high demand everywhere and make sure you're a likeable coworker.

Networking within your firm and at other firms and I think just knowing accounting is already enough and just constantly learning any new rules or regulations. I just think our profession is so short staffed and not that many people want to go into this profession that the bar is set pretty low.
Learn to think for yourself and provide max value to whoever you work for. Even if you ran into a bad situation at your particular firm there is always room for that mindset in countless other firms.
