I just finished a big jury trial with a senior partner (SP). There were co-parties w/separate counsel. SP mentally checked out, to the point that co-counsel was asking what SP was doing/if SP was okay. I ended up handling most everything. SP did a few parts but went rogue and did things that were offensive/risky/bad for client. It became clear that SP is not performing like SP used to and may be a liability. Do I tell someone at my firm? Don’t want to offend SP or cause drama, but I’m concerned.

My professional life at the moment is far from ideal. I’ve been on quarantine (long story, but a good one) for the last seven years. Royalties from my books don’t pay the bills. My entrepreneurial pursuits remain hampered. For the interim, I’ve been looking for a remote opportunity where I can leverage my skills in marketing, sales, social media, and elsewhere for a decent sum. I have a social media presence which, in recent years, reached millions. There has to be something exciting I can do.

Any SF Bay Area marketing manager opportunities? Been on the hunt for several months and can’t seem to make any traction.

After trying to make the shift from agency to in house for years, I just got offered a full-time digital marketing manager role at a tech company in the Bay Area! In researching salaries, the range seems huge in the Bay. Any advice on how to determine a reasonable number to bring to the table?

I am looking to leave my current position due to not having the opportunity to run campaigns and earn experience.
However, every interview I get asked about the campaigns that I have run.
This is starting to feel like a closed loop. Any ideas are appreciated.

I do create some personal campaigns and do social media content on LinkedIn for my personal profile. That is why I get a high number of interviews but I stumble at the starting line.

Do you ever regret leaving agency life?

Any tips on how to deal with this…my entire team was let go today (was 5, now just me). We functioned as the Marketing team for 4 brands and primarily focused on product launches and sustaining social media content. My plan moving forward is to only focus on the top revenue driving product launches for now and say “no” to basically everything else. I just finished what I thought was the final round of interviews for a job that I really want. Everything has been going extremely well.
