I don’t know about SALT, but all the JD I know got paid the same as people with masters, which is only a difference of 2K as staff 1 compared to people who only did undergrad. JD LLM is where there is a large pay difference. I know EY doesn’t view SF and NY as the same tier, but I’m wondering if other Big 4 do.
I actually currently have a significant pay difference from non JDs and started out with one as well with just my JD … at staff level, right out of law school, I started out making at least 25-30k more than undergrads (SF office) - was 92K with my bonus in 2018. I’m at the last level of senior associate right now and at ~170k with my bonus, so wondering what would be reasonable at the next step to expect. (this is SALT so maybe that’s why you’re experience was different I don’t know)
