First of all, welcome! Secondly, I think it varies on the job and the friend (their position in the company, etc). I would go the internal route if your friend is well respected in the company and in a position to have some pull. I suppose the only reason I wouldn't go through a friend referral is if I'm not really aligned with their work ethic or if I didn't want to be "tied" to that person in some way. But I'm curious to hear some other takes on this, though, too.
Tbh from the job description it’s obviously the same thing I have been doing as part of my BA role, so let’s hope for the best 🙏🏼
That’s nice
Thank you! Truly hope things will go well! Finger crossed!
I’ve been in the same industry for the 20+ years of my career, it’s relatively small and people who join are highly likely to stay in the industry. As a result, as my career has progressed, I receive messages from people I know or contacts of contacts asking for referrals or help getting a job. My responses are mostly the same - I will do what I can to help you get an interview, so you need to:
Apply for the role first and put my name in the box that asks if anyone referred you. I will put in my response to the feedback request that I feel the person is a good candidate and deserves and interview.
If there isn’t a role open, I would love to tell you that I will absolutely recommend for one that comes open, but unless I’ve had a persona connection with you, I’m unlikely to remember.
So in this case, apply for the job when it comes up and let your friend know - put their name in the referral box on the application form if there is one.
Understood, first thank you for the reply!
I professionally worked in the same industry which I got referred only less than a year, but the requirements are surprisingly matched my passed experiences, so although I didn’t worked extensively long in the specific industry, but I have required skills and experience which I believe the onboarding will certainly not a problem, as I passed similar at current employer.

Referrals can work if that person put in effort to get you in. Networking and also reaching out to hiring managers and recruiters is great . That is what I did it takes just that one YES .
Finger crossed that I will be getting updates from the hr soon. I have prepared my friend who referred me a background of my experience in the industry so he won’t have nothing to talk to the hr.
Not sure if this is necessary.
But I have been having a hard time to sleep since the first day.
