Hello! Does any one have any insight/advice for a McKinsey interview? I have a call with a McK recruiter next week to discuss my background, which will hopefully lead to official interviews. Any advice would be greatly appreciated, I’m new to exploring the mgmt consulting world.

I had a 2nd round interview today at ICF. After my thank you email, the interviewer said I should be hearing from HR soon. Pre-interview when I asked the salary range for the role, HR said low 70s. What is a reasonable offer? How much more should I negotiate without losing offer? If $$ isn’t possible what should I ask for? I really want to work for them but I also want to learn to ask for more.

I work with a classroom of Middle School ED students. One student, who I worked with the year before, has changed alot over the year. Last year (pre COVID), she had a good head on her shoulders and I thought I had good rapor with her. But over that period of isolation, she tried to commit suicide.

Am I being too sensitive? Interviewed for a Corporate Strategy Manager position at a F50 today and one of the ladies was a White Woman. We get through the interviews and I ask her about the culture. She then proceeded to tell me how it’s really good and even have programs to provide consulting services to NPO that serves impoverished minorities communities and my views and life experiences would definitely bring a good perspective. It honestly made me a little uncomfortable about their culture.

I applied to an experienced consultant position at Bain and just heard back. Yesterday, I received an invite to a HireVue one-way interview to complete. Today, I received an invite for a coffee chat with a consultant. I’m of course going to do both, but the emails make it seem like they are almost two separate paths/disconnected processes.
