Hello, I’m 25 and just starting as an IBD Analyst 1 at a BB. I’ve done a long off-cycle at a boutique IB (7 months) and worked for a major tech company before. Is it too late to start?

No. I know people in their 30s as analyst 1s. Never too late. Don’t compare yourself to others. Just enjoy your life

You’ll get to VP in your early thirties, which is consistent with many bankers who join post MBA. I also joined IB late and have had a great experience

like

No, it’s not. I know plenty of people that started in IB in their 30s.

Desperately want to get into healthcare strategy consulting. 13 years of healthcare clinical experience including project work. MBA. But keep getting told by recruiters that I don't have enough experience to be a Consultant or Manager but that I have too much experience to enter in every level such as a Senior Associate. Just one rejection after another, even when applying with internal referrals from Director or Partner levels. What am I doing wrong?

I know everything doesn’t fall on her shoulder but things haven’t been great as of late. Hopefully they figure out something soon.

What is the drug culture like at your office? I assume people don’t openly talk about what they do in their free time if illicit, but they may do so quietly or you can otherwise tell.
Do you get the impression many people do them? If so, soft drugs (ex - weed)? Hard drugs? Non-prescribed study drugs? Frequency? At work-sponsored social functions? To an extent that it’s noticeable/problematic?

Interesting all the noise about these PPT, my take:

The pandemic took all the upside of an IB analyst life (client meetings in person, fancy trips, suit up, worshiped at networking events) and left all the juniors with the downside (long hours, monkey-like type of job, aggressive work environment).

Not that the complaints are not sort of legitimate but you may need to revise the decision-making process that led you to accept a return offer. Specially if you were looking for less hours.
