I am pretty recent graduate and am passionate about sales engineering but have struggled to get my foot in the door in this field. Seems like every job out there is like 5+ years experience. Any advice for how to get in this field with little experience?

I was wondering if the review course “CPE Self Study Course” for the CFF was enough preparation to study and pass the CFF exam. The CFE review course was enough and like if you get a question wrong it explains it well so that when it comes up in a different way in the real exam you can still get it. But when I saw the outline for the CFF material and there seems to be a lot of topics so I was wondering if the review course was sufficient considering this exam is also multiple choice. Thanks!

They told me to focus on contract management, which I have been doing for the past year. How do you transition from big 4 consulting to big law? My clients are all funds, and I do international tax consulting. I have used my connections to refer me into probably 10 big law firms and it’s not working. One most recently came back and said they aren’t interested bc I have no law firm experience. How am I supposed to get it though? I can’t go to lower ranked firms bc my clients are all “big.” … any suggestions appreciated!

Considering the recession and US market scenario, help me understand if it will be a good move to join BlackRock OR should I continue with Walmart with the current compensation.

Today I received my provisional full and final settlement and the payable amount is negative -11454. They are recovering the full AMPB amount which I got from September months.

Who is still in denial about a housing correction? The Fed just made another .75% increase. Powell said they won’t stop until inflation is 2%. He also said a recession would be better than the consequences of unchecked inflation. He announced he will bring rates to a “restrictive level” until “the job is done”. Hey everyone I’m a new graduate with a bs in industrial and systems engineering currently looking around for full time opportunities. One role that caught my eye is sales engineering. I wanted to ask for opinions on this career path in terms of pay and career progression. Does it have good exit opportunities? What does the career growth typically look like for this role?

Anyone feel frustrated at times with the super aggressive sales personalities we deal with? My AE is always pushing on every ask no matter how minuscule it is. My vp is super anal about anything we do. I understand these guys pull in huge commissions and bonuses that’s why they are so motivated. However what I personally feel is they just nag us until we do the job according to their spec. Just venting……anyone else feel the same?

just replaced a 35yr lifer and now boss tells me to create a business plan and comp scheme. Now there’s me and my trainee who’s rather green. It would be my responsibility to train him up. With 2 effective sales people last year we did ~7M @ 50% margin avg contract value of $25k (record setting year).

What’s a good salary range for senior-level pre-sales leadership position for pre-ipo start ups? The title is senior manager but directly reports to the head of sales for that vertical. I assume it’s similar to director positions.

They have already given the offer to someone else, but they still want to bring me on board and they asked me what I would like to do. I have been offered 137k£ OTE for Sr. SE role in a security company based out of London. YOE 10. Is it decent/good/bad? Please suggest.

I feel like I was straight up lied to during the interview process. “lots of opportunities to hit quota”. I’m sitting here with only one demo two months after joining the company. it looks like our team has only two people doing demos, and demos are only happening once every two weeks. At this rate, I don’t think I’ll be even close to hitting OTE. Are there any other companies hiring right now? I’ll have a discussion about my concerns with my manager soon, but there’s too many red flags here.
