Off topic: I am stuck in a service based company for last 4 years in a shitty project. The work I do can be done by a 12th grader. Now i want to move out by learning something new & changing my domain. But the thing is I am not able to study because I am stuck in a comfort zone and learning new thing gives me bad anxiety. It feels like I will never learn & be forever stuck here. Pls help on how to come out of comfort zone, learn things and apply for the job. Tata Consultancy Infosys Wipro

Currently at one of the Big 3 Japanese banks (MUFG, Mizuho, SMBC) in debt capital markets and might have an opportunity to join the Capital Markets team at Wells Fargo (all in London). What are the thoughts reputationally on WF vs the Japanese banks in EMEA? Also if anyone has any insight into promotions (ability to go up the ranks faster in WF) and salary what would be super helpful! Wells Fargo Mitsubishi UFJ Financial Group, Inc.

Honestly I think one of the best ways to prepare for a role like that is to recharge from studies and make sure you go into the role healthy and with all your personal life sorted. The job will be very specific not only to the type of role, but individual transactions in the particular team. While anything you learn now won't be wasted, it'll be a drop in the ocean compared to the knowledge you'll pick up in the role. Your biggest asset will be having the capacity to deal with the amount of work and absorb the knowledge required. If you must do something, maybe see if there's any expectation among grads to complete any professional qualifications. If there is you could pre-study for these to decrease the amount you'd have to do after you've started. M&A anywhere will be intense, so go into it fresh and enjoy your time before next stage of your life!
