Here’s a disturbingly circular question:,what will 2020 look like in hindsight?

It will be the year agencies started trimming their office space and really letting people start working remotely (saving more money while doing it). Although, with less people as they cut a ton and didn’t bring them back when the worked picked up so they could make more in profit, using less people.

Their hourly wage is more @SVP1. But the company doesn’t have to pay for insurance and other benefits. So would be interesting to see a breakdown when everything is added in

It will be a major pivot point; the year everything changed. How? In what ways? And whether for better or worse, we won’t know until 2040.

In short, same as it ever was?

😀 Yup!

No guesses? No fun.

I think we will see changes similar to after the dot.com bust, the housing bubble, recession etc. And each major shift creates disruption. (Does anyone remember all the stock options that lured us to digital shops before the dot com bust?? ) I believe we will see more “work from anywhere” - which we have had to do when traveling all the time anyway, but now will apply to the junior staff and office-based folks too. I think it means we can hire for talent without regard for location. I’ve led a global team for a year and a half and while it takes time, we got it down to a science now for sure. I think we will see holding companies share resources more broadly to allow for the ebb and flow of work (e.g. Publicis Marcel). And I also think we will see continued massive disruption in the retail landscape. A lot of companies won’t exist anymore after 2020. We will see these things as the hallmarks of the change brought in by 2020.

Hindsight is 2020 ...sorry

I honestly think the “silent majority” this November are going to be people like me that voted for Trump in 2016 but will end up being a big reason he is voted out of office this time around. Biggest reason for me is the absolute lack of leadership and accountability.

I work at KPMG and was told that I will not be promoted (from senior associate 2 to 3), but received pay rise as someone who was promoted. I am so proud person that immediately after knowing that I will not be promoted, I wrote resignation. What is your action plan in this case? Will you resign? And I am not afraid of being unemployed, I have some cash for such case.

Is it worth it to go back to school for a better track to a FAANG company? The division I’m currently in seems like there are no good opportunities, and I have the funds available to finish my undergraduate full time (Canada). I applied to Amazon before for a highly senior position and made it to final interview so I think I would have a better chance for a new grad type role.
