When receiving dinosaur equipment from the client…

Recently got a role at GCP as TAM (comp is pending) but I also got into bschool ; I was hoping to use bschool to transition into product management but I’m not conflicted as I got into my dream company. I see 3 options: 1, join GCP as TAM and forget about bschool 2, join the role but quit in several months to join bschool or 3, join google and hope bschool gives me a deferral. What would you do? Is HARMAN really recruiting for permanent remote roles? Would they ask us to come to office after sometime? I am a bachelor woman supporting my sickly parents and can't move them out of city. And my city don't have harman office. HR did mention permanent remote, still want to confirm as I've heard many cases people were called back across different product based companies. If you get an interview, you can say something like you are exam-ready, or you expect to take it soon. This way it implies you have the knowledge while you are deflecting the cost for actually having a job. Apply away! Good luck!

You should do both in parallel. No sense losing out on any potential opportunities. It's not like the jobs that are available now are going to still be available after you get your cert anyway.
Thanks will begin applying immediately
As long as you have a good understanding of hardware. If you're building machines and know what you're doing, you are already ahead of the curve. Remember, this is text book prep, not real world application. Stick with course material, understand what it is and where it goes. Today's workd, depending on where you are in the industry, you won't be building machines, you'll be replacing or upgrading.
I don’t know if I agree with the advice that you have been given. In today’s competitive job market, you most likely will not even get selected for an interview without either certifications or a degree. If you do chose to apply, focus on headhunters and outsourcing companies. They tend to be less demanding since it’s easier to fire a contractor if things don’t work out. Use the headhunter to get your experience and resume built, then in a few years start applying for a permanent position. Good luck!
I thought the same thing. So with no degree of if I get my A+ and home labs do you think it would be enough?
After about a year of help desk experience, I attempted the A+ with very little studying - maybe around 30 minutes. I did pass, on my first try, but it was closer than I would have liked.
That said, I do think the material is valuable, especially for building a solid IT foundation. But will the A+ get you hired in today’s market by itself? Probably not.
Personally, I’m going to let mine lapse and focus on more technical certifications instead. At some point, chasing certs just gets exhausting. If you keep pursuing them without a clear connection to your role or career path, you can end up wasting a lot of money.
You miss every shot you don’t take. Doesn’t take that long to apply and you might get something so why not just do it?
