How do you actually pass the Oracle Certification exams? The training videos are, let’s be honest, complete garbage. Is there some studying resource I’m missing?

Hands on. Either in a demo pod or real project experience. Difficult to get this stuff without actually doing it.

It’s an implementation specialist exam, so need to be familiar with the setup process and how everything works and ties together. It’s not really an end user exam, if that makes sense. Also Expenses is part of that exam too, which isn’t tiny.

Most of the exams are available online, search the exact code, many sites have collections of past papers and some charge a fee ( I wouldn’t look for anything Over $100), but it’s worth the investment in my opinion, and example - https://exam-files.com/oracle/ The oracle cloud financials training videos has a weird bald British guy with a thick accent, I was like where did they find these people..Lol

Wow, this might be weird to say, seeing as we’ve never met, but I love you. I’ve never said that about anyone at Deloitte, and my brother works there 😂

If you sit with an environment and go item by item on the test syllabus and figure out 1) how to configure and the different functionality each option controls and how perform some transactions to test the configuration, you'll be close. Examples: GL requires you to know encumbrance and budgetary control and how funds reservations behave when an AP invoice line is cancelled. Once you've seen it action you'll know it pretty well.

Many questions are lifted from the documentation so make sure to read through them a few times combined with trial and error self testing in the pod. If you buy any practice exams they often have incorrect answers so use the question and then figure out the answer yourself.

Read the implementation guide a few times. Its all copy paste from there

Curious to hear your thoughts if I should do one or not.

On a waitlist for an MBA program that specified we should only provide “significant” updates for the admissions committee to consider (GMAT scores, promotions, etc.). They reached out to inform me that they’ll be reviewing the waitlist shortly, and I should send in any updates ASAP. I’m not up for promotion (promoted right before I applied) and am not planning to retake the GMAT... should I still send something in addition to confirmation that I’d like to remain on the waitlist?

Post the biggest lies in consulting. I'll start: "Make sure to accurately log your hours."-HR on Orientation Day.

Tell me if I’m missing something here. In consulting, you sign up to work yourself to the bone for 15ish years at well below market pay for the chance of making partner where you will still be somewhat below market for another 10 years working yourself to the bone for the chance at maybe being a senior partner for 10 years making decent money while still working insane hours all while paying for your boss’s salary and pension and their retired boss’s pension. What about this is appealing again?
