Does anyone else struggle with being a freelancer while also being a natural leader? I always feel in freelance roles that they would prefer I just shut up (even though my ideas have been praised and implemented plenty), esp within my own dept. In a full-time role, taking charge is expected, but I'm feeling like I should just sit back and take orders vs trying to be proactive or having thoughts in a freelance role.

I'm a marketer and I'm having a hard time getting my clients to listen to me.

I have been in marketing for 10 years now. I've worked with hundreds of clients and have been able to increase their sales by over $1 million each year.

But every time I go into a meeting with a new client, they ignore everything I say. They just want to talk about their product. They don't seem interested in learning how to market it better.

I am currently a civil engineer thinking of switching to software engineering. Where do I steer my career? I’m an introvert and someone who suffers from PTSD from my time on active duty. I honestly have no real desire to really go to an office and spend half my day pretending to be social and develop “relationships”. I honestly just want to bury myself in the work. Im not interested in happy hours or office golf functions and pizza parties. What is my best bet to staying in tax but also just doing my work and not having to participate in all this extra stuff?

I’m currently working at a Series B startup and my end goal has always been to found my own startup, but I graduated from college 2.5 years ago and I still have not had any great ideas cross my mind.
