I’m assuming you are fighting a slice? Over the top and inside to out are opposite swing flaws. Over the top leads to out-to-in which leads to a slice. (If this is not the case ignore the rest of this post). Agree with the above on lessons but since you asked:
Ignore the common advice to consciously swing inside to out and deliberately change your swing path. Swing path is caused by body position and unless that is changed any attempt to change swing path independently is a bandaid at best.
One of the more common reasons people come over the top is because the don’t move their hips properly. The hips need to clear out of the way in order to make room for the hands to come through. The over the top move is your body compensation for the fact your hips are in the way, there is no room for your hands so they find space by coming ott.
The legs are what move the hips. Find some YouTube videos on how to best use your legs in the golf swing. I prefer Shawn clements/ wisdom in golf as far as YouTube instructors go. He does a great job making references using familiar movements rather the “feel” based moves like “fire your hips”.
Stop looking for recommendations from hackers and get a lesson or 2.
Without seeing swing it’s kind of hard. Ask someone like a coach or really good friend to see the main cause.

There are many reasons behind what’s causing this and numerous ways to fix this. Get a lesson or else you risk compounding your errors and building muscle memory on bad habits/fundamentals.
I battled this a lot just starting golf this year and I’m finally pretty free of the habit (occasionally revert). As others have said, a lesson is often the best fix. But since you’re here, I sometimes did a drill of just practice swinging with a towel tucked up underneath my right arm pit (I am righty). If the towel dropped on my swing, I knew I was going over the top a good bit. Also in my lessons, my instructor had me hit practice shots from very close to the ball. That way I had to swing with depth rather than going over the top if I wanted to make contact with the ball.
