I love accessories too OP but I do not wear jewelry at work. I work in the psychiatric part of the hospital and I have seen too many people get neckalces and sentimental jewelry get broken by patients so now I just leave it all at home. Better to be safe than sorry.
Guess you're right... :/
I have worked as a paramedic and ER nurse for years. The only earrings I have ever worn was a pair of studs. Anything bigger than that can easily be grabbed. I have seen some devastating injuries from earrings. In fact because of the injuries I don’t wear anything other than my silicone rings and a watch. You would be surprised what can and is used against you. I have had my head between a patient’s family member and a wall and my studs left some pretty impressive marks. Since then I am earring free!
Wow, that's scary! Thanks for sharing.

I think you should be allowed if you think they would consider it safe by their standards. But the stories above are kind of horrifying, so maybe better to be safe?
Patient safety first and foremost, I do wear a wedding band. When required I put it in my wall locker, the most important concern is infection control rather than fashion concerns
