Hi All, i got an offer from HCL recently and serving notice period in cts. Its been 10 years since i started my career with Cognizant, i had to struggle so much to prepare my mind to come out of comfort zone. Finally I decided last month to try outside and got an offer with HCL. Now i am scared how my new company policy will be, will i get a project there, how the work culture gonna be, work life balance and a lot of things are eating my mind. Please pore in some positive suggestions.

I am project manager in clinical research industry (CRO). After earning PhD, I gave up my science dream to take a more stable job. After slowly climbing the ladders, I feel like I finally got a seat at the table. Half the days I like the hustle, but now I miss being creative. I want to take more brainstorming, decision making responsibilities but I don’t see that in the career path for PM. Career path usually goes like this- Sr PM, Director, Sr Director, and so on. But all do same work.

Get demoted and move to D? Or counter at EY? Even if EY matches my salary, and promote me to Manager, I will be an EY Manager with a Deloitte SC salary, and probably won't be able to go to D in the future. What do you think? I have built up a good relationship with my Partner and SMs at EY though.

I am already holding an offer letter with one company. Can I ask for 40% hike on it to another company who wants me to join them?
