Market is soft in general right now, but companies like Coca Cola, Cox, Home Depot, UPS and others have large and advanced data capabilities. Depending on how much management experience you have, I’d ballpark around $150,000 in compensation. Atlanta is very large from a real estate perspective. You can live ITP and spend a lot, or move to the OTP suburbs and spend less. Property taxes are relatively low. Power costs can be high depending on how much you use AC.

Where do you live? I’m ITP, I bought my house 2 years ago for ~$950,000, and my property tax bill is $9300.
$30,000 sounds insane.
I would recommend renting ITP (what we call the core of the city, includes downtown /business/ sports/ historic districts and is more dense). Coming from UK, somewhere in ViHi, old 4th, midtown, Piedmont park area, Inman, cabbage town) might work - those areas are more walkable than others, are probably easier for someone in UK to transition to, and even have some public transit. Lots of “nice” apartments with gyms and pools that help offset some expenses.
150k you can get on pretty comfortably. Rent will be from 180 - 2600 in those areas , depending on what you want
Then if you decide you want more space, you have time to look OTP. Who knows, this might be you soon:

Another question. What would be a comfortable salary for a family of 3 and 1 earner only?
