Off topic, a friend of mine is trying to switch from civil engineering background to IT. Need to know if any organization does cross hiring and offer opportunities to such candidates.

I think it all depends on the interview. How well it goes.
She will be treated as a fresher though since she is new to the industry or may be 1 level up

I agree .... she is ok to start as a fresher since the pay in her profession is hardly competitive with the market with little to no hike guarantees. Atleast within IT she will have a chance to grow.

35F divorced with a kid. I think I will never get remarried or in a serious relationship again. Lots of men don't like dating women with children. At my age either the guys are past their prime, divorced/ing and have to provide half their income to their first wife. Many with kids live on the same street as their ex wives so they can be close to their child. I'm not comfortable dating guys like that.
