What is the role? My friend works there and loves the culture but I don’t necessarily think the culture in product and engineering is the same as in sales etc. I’ve discussed long term growth with them - there’s lot of opportunity internationally and improvement around their contextual shopping capabilities to keep driving growth in their core product but I don’t think it’s going to be the next Google anytime soon.
International moving i think is heavily dependent on your function and what functions are in the office you want to go to. There’s a reasonable amount of flex I think, but it’s not like you can just move anywhere you want just because you want to.
Thanks for your reply, highly appreciate it!
One of the reasons I was considering leaving Google is the size, I feel it grew too big, mature and career trajectory will take a lot of time. Also, I would love to experience a more "scrappy" culture.
The role is basically (technical) program management for sales operations. There is no team yet for the region and I would be the first and only "team member" (putting in brackets as there is no real team) reporting up to the head in San Francisco.
Pay is a considerable uplift (but not the most important thing for me).
