Need to leave for Canada in roughly a month because of US visa expiry but worried about potential travel restrictions in Canada given the bad covid situation. Are there any provinces that are not as hard hit by covid? Any advice is appreciated. Thanks.

The Atlantic provinces are not as hard hit. They have some of the more stringent travel restrictions. The two may be correlated. Ontario is not doing well. There’s currently no provincial travel restrictions for those flying in beyond the federal testing and quarantine requirements, but the rules feel like they’re changing daily.

I have the opportunity to move to a small boutique data science and data engineering consulting firm that would pay better with less hours. However, would it stunt my growth without a big 4 tag? I feel like my kids 1st grade teacher is being too strict, but I'm not sure if this is normal or I'm being sensitive because it's my child. E.g. she gave him 2/10 for his math homework because he doodled on the page, colored in the circle that has the page number, didn't draw the word problem neatly, wrote his last name under the name line, and says some of his numbers aren't legible. All his answers were correct, except one where he forgot to fill in the blank. Is this normal? X-posting

By now, nearly every CEO of a major company has made some public statement or proclamation of their commitment to racial equality, diversity, and such matters. My view: about 30%. That is still a great number, because it’s far higher than zero.
