Quick qstn - I'm receiving HRA of 24075 from my employer but I would like dhow the rent paid as 96k p.a (while filing ITR). Even if I do so, I was only able to get exemption of 24075 from gross. Checking if we can speak to payroll department to increase Actual HRA since I'm actually paying more rent than compared. Will I be able to do so ?Deloitte Newco EY Accenture Genpact KPMG

I have an SPHR and I believe it is worth it. I got a doctorate afterwards but I feel like the SPHR and my Master's together put me ahead of other candidates.
I recommend you do it. I currently have my masters and I regret not getting my certs.
You would be amazed at how many organizations place more emphasis on SHRM over MBA.
SHRM's pass rate is much harder than an MBA
I think the certification makes you more marketable as a professional in the field. I have my masters and SPHR and would certainly recommend. I learned a few things when prepping for the exam so it was essentially a win win - more knowledge and increased salary. If your employer has a tuition reimbursement program, it may be covered. I also appreciate the recertification process, as it forces me to continuously seek out ways to enhance my skills and knowledge, which I admittedly was not as intentional about pre certification.
Yes , I Graduated with My MBA - with a concentration in HRM . My next steps are my scrum master certification and then my PMP (project management ) i was told a PMP cert will increase your salary and your exclusivity in the market. while solidifying you as a CME.
SHRMCP heard that helps.

I went the reverse route as I got my SHRM-SCP and then decided to get my EMBA. Are you doing a HR concentration in your Masters program?

If you know your going to make HR your profession I would say yes. SHRM’s certification programs seem to be eclipsing HRCI’s as our profession’s standard (IMO).
When I would hire for my team seeing someone with an MBA AND a HR Cert told me they had both book smarts and practitioner intelligence. Either way HRCI/SHRM certification programs have education/experience requirements for your application to request to sit for either exam.
Go for it if you know this is what you want.
Based on experience having both an MBA and a SHRM CERT, I highly recommend. It will give upward mobility and the critical HR knowledge you’re seeking - plus it has a competency base structure which is good. Go for the SCP level based on your background!
I have my MBA working on my doctorate now and hit 6 figures without it. I would say it’s worth it but everyone is different i don’t plan on getting it.
You should get it. Ageism is very real. You will regret not getting it after age 40. Trust me I know.
Are u looking for an increase in salary or HR knowledge?

If you are looking for more HR Knowledge then the SHRM-SCP is worth the investment.
Get the SHRM version. It’s easier to maintain and you’ll have it for companies that want it. I have an MBA and both the HRCI and SHRM certifications and no one in my experience cares except HR people, but I know many directors and VPs who aren’t certified at all.
