I joined Tata Consultancy on 2nd Sep and now after 1.5 months of the complete process, I've received the offer letter from Infosys which is a lot better than TCS in terms of location and package.

The issue is that my Infosys doj is 9th Sep, although I've sent an email to HR that it's not feasible as I had informed them earlier.

Is it possible to get an early release in TCS since I've not received an ID card and an asset? Also, I'm not yet officially assigned to a project.

I just got laid off from my job as a gov contractor because the project I was working on ended. I’m currently a grad student part time and was hoping to work that job until finishing grad school before applying to consulting roles. Should I go ahead and try applying for those roles now since I don’t have a job? Or should I wait since I’m still in school until next May?
