i am getting promoted soon, i have heard that while promoting 20% hike is given. Does this 20% will also include my yearly appraisal salary hike? Or promotion hike and yearly appraisal hike will be separate? Actually first time in my life I'm getting promoted in same organisation.

I read an interesting article from Accenture about using APIs in RPA projects. I always wondered why I haven't seen anyone RPA project where we used APIs. It just seems to enhance the process...

So I just had a client tell me their asylum case is fabricated, and can't I help prepare the person for court. My initial reaction, fire the client. I'm not that kind of atty. But I hear so many talk about finding a balance and not turning ppl away bc ultimately they need a defense and who knows what will come up along the way. How would you handle? How do you find the balance btwn not turning clients away but not being unethical?

Anybody else have a desire to bill more hours on a project than you actually work when the project itself is incredibly frustrating? In agency and/or freelance? Because let’s be real, 1 hour of standard work does NOT equal 1 hour of work when someone makes your job incredibly difficult.

I work for a small firm (about 20 attorneys) and make 90k. I’m coming up for a raise discussion in a couple of months but don’t know how to go about it/what is reasonable to ask for. I bill about 35 hrs/week at 400/hr, so I think I deserve a bump, especially considering the posture of the market. Any advice/feedback from similarly situated associates or partners at similarly sized firms?
