Nahhh.... I posted bcz I see other's post who wanted to leave their current job, asking for suggestions,
these people pop up advising to not leave due to 'the upcoming recession'.
So I just wanted to confirm if there is any truth in it.
(P.S personally planning to switch and
not a believer of All India Manager's Association where they come up with plans to stop transfer of talents).
I think there is some partial truth ..if not complete
Normally when a recession hits, unemployment rate goes up. But this is not true for current market conditions. As per the Labour force department, unemployment rate is pretty low. Also, unfilled jobs were around 7 million pre pandemic. Now it has increased to more than 11 million which is 4 million more unfilled jobs. Clearly the jobs are increasing. Most likely, it will be a mild recession.
So managers globally collaborated to spread rumours about recession to reduce attrition. Amazing how much power you think managers have.
Managers are worried about recession too.
Too much effort to control attrition. All these firms are audited. A lot of them are publicly traded. Faking revenues will end the companies. Which is what happened to satyam and Enron
Its like this. Noone knows what's gonna happen, there are projections ranging from only slowdown to mild recession to an economic bloodbath. Thats the fact - noone knows for sure. Now its possible that companies could be using this uncertain situation to say out loud that recession is coming "for sure" as it is beneficial to them when it comes to salary negotiations and hikes. Maybe they are just being cautious, safety first and all. You can see that there are hiring freezes and layoffs happening. Now its natural for human mind to interprete this as some conspiracy of all companies coming together to reduce all our salaries/hikes
