I am a graduating student who just got offered 65k for a solution analyst role at Deloitte USDC (Data Engineering Focus). From reading previous posts it seems to be a lot of negative thoughts surrounding the USDC, but straight out of college is this a good opportunity?
I'm looking to gain as much experience as possible out of college in an IT role and wondering what exit opportunities may be in place a year or two down the road if there is little/slow progression.

Hi Fishes, I recently joined Pwc AC and was informed to update my checkpoint portfolio where we update all our investments. If we have some investments and if we do not declare them, will it be a problem or can I update it as Nothing to report. Recently I joined here so I'm having some confusion regarding this.

Bro to get more package its necessary to build your value which comes from your technical skillset, your experience, your stability, how well you cracked your interview. If you satisfy all above I guess in current situation you will automatically offered 3x without even asking. If I was at your place I would have stayed atleast for 2 years in my first organization unless it was too very toxic to survive.

First research about the company, if you are from TCS and if you go to infy you won't get 2x salary. But if you get selected in Amazon, VMware you can expect even 3x. And to get select in good company you need to improve your skillset as others mentioned.

It’s simple -
1. Get multiple job offers - preferably at companies that can pay you in the salary range you’re looking for.
2. Use one offer to negotiate another and so on (e.g: negotiate first offer to be 25% more than your current. Use this counter offer to get even more hike on a new offer, so on)
You can also hire some agencies (I think Candor and levels.fyi offer a negotiation service) to help with this.
Thanks this will help
Opinion on this query is very much needed. Please fishes kindly give advices.
Have some niche skillset in your bucket along with good communication skills.
Just make it in percentage instead of 2x or 3x..but it isn't easy to get 100% hike.. Average hike is 40% but if you have a good skill set and you can add value to the company then surely you can ask.. But ask in total amount.. Like I am getting 8 lac CTC and I am expecting 15 or 20 Lac.. Surely they'll ask you how can you ask that much hike and if you have confidence in your skills and they are getting what they need or higher than expectations from you then you need to prove to them that you deserve such hike.

1 year? 1 year and you want to switch? 1 year and you want to know how to negotiate salaries? Seems like your current workplace isn’t good enough. Buddy, at least gain 1.5 yoe and then try switching companies. At least decide your stream first. Ex. Cloud, Big Data, Data Science, AI/ML, etc.

You’re not cutting yourself a pay cheque. Your company is. That’s why they can ask you to do whatever the hell they want.
You wanna learn something new? Upskill yourself in data science. Enroll yourself in some course on Udemy and then go for a more comprehensive course from AppliedAI.
You can’t switch into data science just like that. It’s not a cakewalk. There are better data scientists available in the market. Why would anybody want to hire you?
Prove your worth. Nobody considers 1 year as experience. Wait for a couple of months, upskill and prepare a CV where you can mention stuff related to Data Science. Then try in other companies.
As you are already working in an organisation, try to get an offer-any offer and then put your paper. After that you can negotiate with your existing offer to get more hike. You can do this till your notice period ends. But try to inform the other companies that you are not joining atleast 2-3 weeks before so that they can get other candidates

What’s your skillset and ctc?

Make sure you have practical exposure to these, if not try creating POCs using your tech skills and boast them as if you were working on these in your current company and ask for 2x. If not get the first offer, then negotiate on top of that in your subsequent offers. You can go to 3x or 4x via that route
