What’s a good, practical tax book to read for someone who knows nothing about taxes? I feel like I should familiarize myself with them but don’t know where to start/find the topic very overwhelming and dense even as a finance attorney. Welcome to other beginning finance book suggestions too! (Already read Kiyosaki and Ramsey)

I'm from Baltimore, and lately, we have had a crazy buying spree, I mean I have sold the same property 2 times in less than 2 weeks, and the person who bought it immediately put it on the market and made an average of $25k in less than 5 days. Many reports show that investing in Baltimore and Philadelphia is the future, I don't doubt it. What is the fastest you have ever resold a property?

How useful are Macros and VBAs for tax prep?

I have $100K liquid cash over and above maxing out 401K, HSA, College fund, investments in Index funds and emergency fund. I plan to leave $25K for contingency. Of the $75K is it wise if I purchase I bonds worth $30K (myself, spouse, kid)? Current combined rate is 9.62 Does anyone foresee the interest rate drastically reducing? I don’t intend to cash them out before 5 years.

Amex Platinum Users - How does “no preset spending limit” get reported to the credit bureaus? Just got approved and 6 months ago my credit was around 580 so this is a huge achievement for me, but I’m also obsessed with maintaining my credit score now. I NEED HELP WITH CREDIT SCORE issues: Two months ago my credit score went down by 30 to 40 points due to dad missing credit card payment by a day (i got added to as authorized user on his credit card for me to build credit but now I’m filled with regret). I was devastated by it. This past month I have been making more payments and paid off my aug statement in full thinking it will boost my credit score. My company just announced that they will stop matching for the 401K until 2021 (sigh). I flunked out of school and had no options when I joined the army. I hated every second of my time in, and spent all my weekends getting as drunk as possible.

Now that I’m out, I graduated with my BA in Econ, got a job I love, and somehow got into an M7 Bschool with a 670 GMAT. I look back on my time in and laugh, and still talk with some of my old army buddies (though not as often anymore)

Amazing how time can change your perspective, because 10 years ago I never thought I’d be here.
