How useful are Macros and VBAs for tax prep?

My cousin has moved to another company from DXC technologies.
In DXC, PF amount is not credited in to EPFO directly.
We have UAN and it looks like not activated.
How can we transfer PF amount from DXC to EPFO portal?
There is no relevant response from DXC till date.

Tax question: married filing jointly for 1st time next year. Company recommends/requires me to fill out its tax calculator. Is this required? Can I just leave it at 0? What percentage of your monthly income do you actually see in your check, your net pay? Basically, what percentage of your check goes towards all the different deduction? I get 50% of my gross income deducted.

What's a good % of your gross income to be spending on housing? Does it differ if you're paying the mortgage vs renting?

So, a possible Blue Wave in November with some promises to reverse the 2018 tax cuts and maybe introduce at-death realization of capital gains - should mean a hectic November-January, right?

(Then again, I've been wrong before. Last time it was "So, a global pandemic that preys on the elderly, many of whom have a bunch of unused gift and GST exemption lying around since 2018 - probably a busy time for estate planning?" Was underwhelmed. )

Need help with a formula. I’m downloading bank statements to excel and I’m trying to do a lookup so it fills in the category based on the bank description. The problem is I’m trying to use the entire bank description as my lookup value, but the table array I’m searching only has the first part of the descriptions (because the last parts are all different bank ref numbers). How can I do this?

My sheet has multiple cells with Notes. Whenever I reorder rows or add new columns, the notes go completely out of whack (get displaced or squeezed). Any quick fixes? Also why does this happen?
