Hi! I am a seasoned litigation attorney based in the Philippines, and I am exploring a transition into AI-assisted legal practice or a backend legal support role with a U.S. law firm. Is there a pathway to pursue this kind of work?

What is AI assisted legal practice?

like

It's very hard for non us licensed attorneys to get legal jobs in the US who are here. I dont know of any company or law practice who would be willing to ship it overseas.

Also not sure what you mean by Ai assisted.

like

Right now it’s unlikely a U.S. firm would sponsor your visa to do backend legal support work. I also don’t know what “AI assisted legal practice” is but you’d still need bar admission in the U.S. jurisdiction you’re practicing in if you wanted to work for a U.S. firm as an attorney. Not sure what legal practice laws are like in the Philippines.

I work for a small firm (about 20 attorneys) and make 90k. I’m coming up for a raise discussion in a couple of months but don’t know how to go about it/what is reasonable to ask for. I bill about 35 hrs/week at 400/hr, so I think I deserve a bump, especially considering the posture of the market. Any advice/feedback from similarly situated associates or partners at similarly sized firms?

What is the protocol with talking with recruiters? I'm not pre se looking to move right now but if something with more money and flexibility regarding location opens up then I'm not opposed.

Is it wrong to talk to them about possible opportunities?

Hi, been stuck in the contract analysis/review cycle. I have asked a few recruiters how to make a lateral move into in-house. They told me to focus on contract management, which I have been doing for the past year. Now that I have, are there any sites besides “jobscan” that I can use to make sure my resume fits the job descriptions? Does anybody know any recruiters that could help me, as well?
