Hi, I am moving from USA to Canada very soon, on PR. I had a question about moving my stuff. I don’t have any furniture but do have basic kitchen stuff and clothes/shoes etc. What would be the cheapest way of getting these to Canada? Hearing mixed opinions on UPS... I was originally planning on just bringing everything with me and paying for extra baggage but since I am traveling solo, I’m not sure if I will be able to handle all the bags myself.

After all the wait, self-doubts, and emotional insecurities, I finally got an offer from the agency I’ve wanted!!! 😭

I got an offer at Meta as a 3-mo contingent CSM that pays 2x what I make now.

Two pros: 1) Making the jump from a non-tech agency role to FAANG can be tough, so this is a great oppo in that aspect.
2) I'm living in SF on a non-tech salary, so the pay increase would be incredible.

It’s possible I could move into a similar role @ Meta once this expires, but to be safe, I'd need to start the job hunt again asap.

Thoughts on the pivot & how valuable a short-stint at Meta is for future job hunt?

i had my canadian pr last year but didn’t do the landing since covid hit. the deadline passed of course and the immigration office reached out to check if i’m still interested and if so i should re-do a medical. assuming my medical goes through and my pr is processed and accepted again, does anyone know if landing is still a thing? my original plan was to do a landing and move after 2 years. is this still possible or does canada basically want you to move in a year or so after pr is granted?
