I’m developing a product, but I’ve reached a fork in the road in making / selling as low as possible with stock parts and slight customization versus producing more innovation which comes at a higher price tag. The debate is that others will copy and make it with stock to put it on Amazon and undercut me if I go the innovative route, but it’s so hard to see this idea succumb to design sacrifices to meet a common price. Then there’s the whole going to China part...

My wife was informed a few weeks ago that she would be laid off as of end of year. She signed the paperwork and will be receiving a decent severance due to her tenure there.

Now the company is saying they may have some other work for her to do for a few months and they could extend her contract if interested. If she says no, is she still eligible for her severance since she already signed her paperwork?

Coming to the realization that I am deeply unhappy in this job. I have no motivation and it’s sucked out all interest I used to have in learning, etc. I feel like it was my dream job in undergrad and I spent 5+years trying to get here and it all feels like a waste. I do feel like I can stick around another year-ish (I quite like the ppl in my group) but idk what to do next or who to talk to about it. Anyone else go thru this? Any suggestions? 2nd year in a transactional practice smaller office.

Currently have a hospice patient on physical therapy caseload for device recommendations to give her a better QOL in her final days. I go in to assess her and find she has a sacral ulcer. Nurse and I (the PT) agree that the patient would benefit from a ROHO cushion for her W/C. Hospice comes back and says they don’t cover cushions! This is beyond messed up. Bigger picture, this $170 cushion is probably cheaper than most items they’ve spent money on covering for her.
