what’s your budget? what phase are you at in life?/do schools matter to you? are you trying to buy a place or rent?
Good questions! Still in my twenties looking to rent, budget is $2800-$3300
I would keep it more central Long Island or more in queens, glen cove is more north and longer travel times. Astoria, sunnyside…
Forest Hills!!! Great area, tons of options. Look into it. Kew Gardens, too.
If you don’t have a car, select a LI location by stations on the LIRR. An apartment walking distance from a station is everything. Also, anything beyond Huntington is generally too far from the city for a reasonable commute.
LI is crazy expensive these days. LIRR is terrible. If you can get a place on an express train line, it’ll save you pain and misery. Look in Nassau. Suffolk is cheaper, but the commute is longer. You’ll also be looking at fares that are $30+/day (Huntington). Avoid train lines where you need to transfer to save your sanity. That being said, I had an amazing experience living on LI. Good luck!!
Thanks! I should mention that I do have a car if that helps
