Progressive Insurance Hi! I have an upcoming interview with a recruiter for an underwriter position. If you get to move forward would the next step be like a panel interview before you get an offer? Also are there any good prep questions? I'm pretty good at STAR at least. Just trying to get prepared.

I joined PRG 2 months ago and love it! I'm a business consultant - previously worked in IT/finance. Interview started with recruiter, then panel of 2 people (peer and manager of another team) then I interviewed directly with my current manager. After they narrowed it down, my last interview was with the director. All STAR questions, just keep a handful of stories/anecdotes in your back pocket and you'll be fine. I made sure to ask questions in between and stayed engaged the whole time.

^ The only PTO I was able to negotiate was getting 1 week to use right away vs waiting for it to accrue. I did negotiate my salary and they met me in the middle.

Use chat gpt to ask what questions they will based on the job description. Also was that job posted as remote?

like

Yes! Its a remote position with Progressive. Sorry I totally thought it posted in the Progressive bowl and not the general insurance bowl 🤦‍♀️

These days, questions are usually situational. Tell us about a time when you went above and beyond to get the job done. Tell us about a time when you had to deal with a difficult customer. Tell us about a time when you struggled to meet a deadline. Tell us about a time you worked in a team and others weren’t meeting expectations. Tell us about a time when… Have your stories. Focus on SOAR (situation, obstacle, action, result ). Take a look at the company’s core beliefs and use those.

Small Business Insurance Underwriter. I am currently a Business Lines Auto Underwriter at a competitor.

I work for progressive. I'm an Underwriter. Your interview will be a panel of 2. Use all STAR scenarios for answers. Be friendly and upbeat. Pretty easy questions. You got this

Thank you! Do you enjoy working at Progressive?

Remember, people like to hire people they feel they can work with. Be conversant and make them feel like you would be an easy person to get along with. As far as questions go,
What can I do on day one to help your company reach its goals.
Is there anything in background that we need to discuss that would question my ability to do the job.
I'm really excited about this opportunity, Is there anything more I can tell you to overcome any issues you may have that would hurt my chances of getting this position?
Not a question but a final statement:
If you offer me this position, I personally guarantee you will not be disappointed.

Every company is different in how they structure the next steps. Sometimes is a one on one interview. Sometimes it's a few managers. Sometimes it's a series. I would've asked the recruiter what it was going to be.

Is it progressive or "protective "

Interview is with Progressive and I currently work with "Jake" lol

I have been talking to a recruiter for a little over a month about a position. I let her know out the gate that I really wasn’t looking to change jobs, but she just kept wanting to continuing the conversation. I didn’t have 2 interviews with the hiring coming and they know that I am not really looking to make a switch. They are now working on an offer letter and I know they’re going to offer me more money. So I've been at my job for 5+ years as a data analyst/back office support team. I made my way up into making a little over $40k. I've been WFH the past 2 yrs and overtime more than half my team has now been pulled out to work for a diff department which resulted in me taking 90% of our daily tasks to handle. I'm at a point where the salary I'm getting is disrespectfully low for all the work I do. Should I ask for a raise? And if so, how do I go about asking without sounding greedy.

It is like “owning your book” but I assume I would pay a high price if I want to totally manage myself in a futu
