One competing offer (that is lower) and only MBB promotion to Engagement manager in a few months as leverage point. At MBB, level for level, do implementation practitioners make the same as generalists?

What are the best responses for “a time when you led a team” in a consulting interview, for someone who has not had a managerial position (1 yoe) before? Hi all! I was wondering if you can share your experience balancing work and interview prep at the same time? Work has been super demanding and I’m trying to prep for interviews, but I have no time except for the weekends (even then my time is extremely limited because I don’t want to completely ignore my loved ones, and I try to catch up on some sleep here and there).

Is it ever possible to transfer to BCG or Bain laterally as a Senior Associate at another (non-mbb) strategy consulting firm? Or is the first year associate role, the only point of entry? Thank you!
