I really don't have much to teach, the streets have changed a lot in the last few years, and now we cops are much less respected than before, what can I teach a new cop?

For them to seek lost respect before the police gave more respect and authority, and now they are not taken seriously there is a campaign for that, yes, but in the same way, there has been a violent response towards the citizenry in general, we must rescue our values.

You can teach him how to take care of himself on the streets, I'm sure that soon we will have hate crimes against us police officers.

You can teach him our old values, not the current ones that are stained by public opinion, we are a group of people proud of what we do, more than all the old ones, so that cannot be lost, the young people should feel proud to be police officers.

I understand how you feel, things have changed a lot since a few years ago. I would recommend that you teach them specifically, that things change, and that we have to adapt to those changes in order to perform as we should. Also teach them that patience is the key to this work in these times.
