Not sure what to say about that except I'm sorry to hear it and hope you healed up okay. It sounds like you needed a lawyer as well as a doctor. Employers will often play games over stuff like that, and it's probably worse in the restaurant business than in most fields. Anyway, try to get some legal consultations and see what your options are.
Have you checked with the company about the status of your insurance? It's very strange that they would lead you to believe you had insurance when you didn't. I'm really sorry that happened to you.
I would get an attorney. They should be paying that bill because of the stress they are putting on you with all those shifts. And if you should have had insurance that is on them as well.
Holy cow. Cracker Barrel is big enough that if you were told insured from day 1, you should be insured. You must have like someone who takes care of insurance?!!!!
That’s a lie. If you were still employed at the time of the accident, then the company insurance should cover it.
I would negotiate with the hospital. Medical bills, especially emergency room bills, are very negotiable and if they think they won't get any of their money they'll be happy to bring down the bill in order to get something. Your employer sounds awful but maybe focusing on the hospital will bring better results.
Are you salary or hourly?
