That location of your office is a bit irrelevant. Unless you really care about commute time more than anything, but TS is very well connected. No one can recommend without any additional context you haven’t provided.
Look at streeteasy (app / website), where you can filter by location, budget, amenities, whatever. Location-wise if you want to stay in Manhattan I would look at UWS/UES - but TS is very well connected and you can live in other boroughs and still easily get there. Depends on what you value.

If you’re coming from out of state, just find a big building with a leasing office. You’ll never be able to move fast enough to get the individual units.
Times Square is convenient to basically anywhere. What type of neighborhood do you want?

Get a broker and pay like $10k in fees. I’m not actually being sarcastic, the only way to get an individual unit is by having a broker. I refused to pay rental fees almost as high as closing costs so I was only willing to live in the large manages buildings that don’t have fees

For Times Square definitely UWS, not UES. Be around the 2/3 express stations and you have a very fast commute.
2/3 express is much faster was the point.
StreetEasy is the platform. You can search it by what subway line the apartment is on, but TBH almost every subway line in the city goes within a block of times square. More crucial to be close to the subway stop than which line it is, unless you want to prioritize an express train and/or an accessible station.
Your bigger questions are what do you want in an apartment (square footage, prewar, new construction, in unit laundry?) building (doorman, gym, other amenities?) neighborhood (restaurants? nightlife? Parks? Quiet? Families?] Those will narrow your search. If feasible I recommend exploring neighborhoods with listings in your price point to see which ones you vibe with, but failing that read up on them, take a look at Google street view. And ask friends in the city if you have some already for recommendations.
