not sure if this is ok with business but dependent picklist can be an option..Don't give access to any values specific to required parent picklist value
Thank you!
why is this needed?
Just a request. If something is answered no= the fields are N/A
You might want to check out the newer functionality that was released. Forget the name, but they are dynamic lightning field layouts for field behavior
We unfortunately don’t have the new version!
Have you tried omni-script? Offers a bit more control in terms of behaviors
Additional license cost, fyi
Validation rule
Always be careful about introducing record types for such a simple requirement. Very lucrative as an option. Maintenance is a huge pain in the a** in the long term.
Validation rules not a clean way but work around
Thank you!
Either validation rules or a separate record type
The record type + page layout mentioned above is probably the best way. You will need a before save record trigger flow to make the record type change.
Put the fields you want to have dynamically pop up into an “Update Record” quick action on your object. Then, on the lightning page, add a “related record” component, select “use this record” and choose the action you just made. Then, add conditional visibility to the component for when your picklist = yes.
Use this alllll the time for standard objects because I almost exclusively use lightning pages for layouts now.
It’s controlled by the quickaction. Also you should be able to put the related record component anywhere on a lightning layout.
