I have been trying to switch to a technical role at G for some months now with very little luck despite submitting CLs for my current team + 20% exp. I’m currently in a sales ladder but do mostly development work and want to switch to a role that offers me more support and growth tech wise. I’ve also been interviewing externally and I have heard positive feedback for SWE @ Microsoft just need team matching. Would it be smart to switch or wait to find a SWE/UXE or other tech role at G?

Anyone else feel like Chicago has very limited "upward" exit options, especially for tech? It seems like outside of consulting, most people who earn a higher incomes are in trading/banking/PE 😕

Hey guys I have offer from cisco system and checkpoint cyber security . Checkpoint is offering x+5 in base where as cisco is offering similar amount in joining bonus. Overall per year ctc is also differs by 3 lac (y+3) in checkpoint .

So considering recession and mass layoff which one will be right option to select in terms wlb, job security and future growth .

FYI : checkpoint is starting r&d division in India I will be first person to be hired for the same role.

Which offer should I accept? Currently staff 2 at big 4 in Tax with CPA license. I want to leave tax ASAP. Both are public companies +1B in revenue and same salary. Offer 1 - staff revenue accountant so reading contracts, speaking with the sales team and legal team, a lot of work at the end of the months to close books and reconcile transactions to make sure we are ASC 606 compliant. This track usually leads to director of revenue. Offer 2 - internal audit staff so SOX and compliance projects.

I found a company I was really excited about working at. I applied for the job and went through 5 rounds of interviews. At the end they said I was OVER qualified and they want me for a different position higher up in the company. I was super excited they then had me go through 5 more rounds, 3/5 people were the same. The interviews mostly went "didn't you get the job, I highly recommend you? I'll just put you down as a 10". After those were done they told me I was UNDER qualified. Can't win!
