I’m trying to transition from 5th grade elementary to 6th grade middle. I have to do a demo lesson in 8.RI.1 citing textual evidence. I have no experience with 8th graders or what their level is. (I know how to teach it to 5th grader tho, but that’s not helpful!)

Do you guys have any advice on what types of activities or passages to use for the demo lesson? I want to do something the students are interested in, but I’ll only meet them once during the lesson so that’s out.

I also wanted to ask for those that follow - is there anything helpful that could be added to this bowl? Any other discussion topics?

Hi Fishes I have 2 offer 1 from epam anywhere and other is from deloitte, which is better to join ?. Epam anywhere offering 17 fixed + 50k joining bonus and Deloitte offering 15.75 fixed ( 2.5lakh + 10% variable). I am confused which one I should join. YOE-3.7 in cloud and devops. A female friend of mine recently received a settlement in a sexual harassment action against her employer during mediation. Upon receiving her (female) attorney’s final bill she was blown away to discover that her attorney charged her almost five times what the attorney estimated she would charge for the mediation. Looking for Club Suggestions for 6th grade!

I want to start a club for my 6th graders so they can be more active around the school, but I can’t figure out what I want to do so I’m looking for ideas! What are some cool clubs / activities you have at your schools?

ELA teachers: when you do read alouds, do you read a whole chapter to the class each day, or do you just read for a set number of minutes?- I.e: 10 minutes a day. (Please factor in books like Harry Potter that have pretty lengthy chapters)
