Thank god someone else has the guts to speak up about this.
Few are toxic. You might wonder how they are even in that position. Reason 1 - Seat warmers batch. Regardless of skill the higher management needs pets in lower level roles. Don’t be surprised if your technology manager or lead asks you what a database or a stored procedure is. Few managers are really uplifting! They help through lots of issues and take the lead. For example I was just sharing “Ask me about it 😂 . I am a junior dev who is training a lead (2 levels above me) just because the director likes to play favorites! I legit have a call for this. Hilarious because, teach them how to do their job so that they can hold you accountable for the whole project.” for another post. There is good and bad. If you in a spot anywhere similar to what i have mentioned, jump orgs. Because ‘They’ will never change.
If you are not awaiting your PR just search for something that suits you. And don’t do free work that is above ur pay level or even sign on anything before negotiating! If you are awaiting PR then just wait till you get it.
