How are you preventing students from using AI to cheat? Or do you allow the kids to use AI?

In class. On paper. No access to phones or laptops. No AI.

Doing in class writes - they know the work arounds of chat gpt zero / brisk etc. they know how to make a paper have a report for low ai detection . We even use Google Docs where we can view their recorded cut and pastes - they just type it from their phone where they do the AI- we need to go back to old school books/ pen and paper

Centering the essentials in class writing, reading, logical reasoning, thinking is the right move. That’s where you can actually see understanding happen. Homework, though, shouldn’t be a test of honesty so much as a window into how students learn. Asking whether they got help from family, friends, or AI is fine but only if help is allowed and expected. Otherwise, you reward secrecy, not integrity. Design homework so support is visible and explainable, then use class time to probe understanding. If they can explain their thinking, the question of “who helped” matters a lot less than what they learned.

I’m glad to hear others are getting down to basics. Paper and pencil-that’s it.

If someone is really bent on cheating, I’m not sure that there is a lot that you can do to stop it.

You can shorten assignments and make them do it on paper in the classroom with no access to a computer. That’s what I do with tests.

I don’t allow the students use their Chromebooks or other digital devices in class. Test and homework assignments are written on pieces of paper. It doesn’t prevent all cheating and AI usage, but it’s something.

I used to care about and chase the opportunity to produce cool/fun/funny work. But, as of the last couple years..it’s just more about stability, keeping working relationships happy, building finances, i.e. it’s just a job. Not about pushing for the most fun creative ideas—I still do that—I just don’t care enough to fight as much if they don’t get it. Definitely still feel genuinely defeated when truly awesome concepts get glossed over by a client who has no clue what they want.

What are some good exit opportunities from restructuring? Is it possible to get into M&A etc once qualified ACCA?

I'm trying to figure out how to pivot out of my current job. My department is in utter chaos, which has just become completely unmanageable. I'm looking for front-end web design work, and work from home. I am a strong designer and basically set up landing pages for large companies on a proprietary CMS in our company. If anyone knows of places I could apply? I'm not trying to reinvent myself as I do artwork on the side and would rather grow that business and get out of the chaos of fortune 500.

Thinking about transitioning from advertising (10 years as a copywriter) into public relations. Has anyone in this bowl done that? What types of roles should I be looking for?

Any thoughts on the best certifications to get in order to help move forward? I have considered the CCP from World at Work, but it’s fairly pricey to get by the time you wrap up everything. I was looking at both SHRM-CP and SPHR. Everyone that I have spoken to has the SHRM, but that’s also only looking at individuals in a small geographic footprint and within 3-4 different companies. I was hoping to get some thoughts on this from others? Thanks
