How do I excel into being in a art director role. I have over 6 years of experience but due to small company, i've been a solo designer wearing many hats ever since so I never had the chance to lead a team (only mentored a few design intern for a short period of time).

I'm currently out of the company, was thinking if I should apply for an art director role or still stay in a designer role and hopefully to make my way up.

Any advice on this?
