How do you all deal with friends/family who don’t understand it’s not easy to take time off? Have family that ask why I can’t do random weekday events or take off certain full weeks for vacation with the prodding of “just take PTO it’s not that hard”

Discussion: comparing base and bonus numbers at any level feels like a lack of imagination. Why don't people ask for truly differentiated things? Ie. I want to have 5 extra PTO days, I need a car, pay my healthcare, etc.

If I'm forced to use my vacation, floater, etc. towards my study leave for CFE but I have vacation booked for right after CFE, will PwC still let me take that vacation as a "leave of absence"?

Moving from T2 to McKinsey. How do vacation requests work? I have family and friends getting married this fall in weddings delayed because of covid, but I’ll just have started so wanted to get a sense of how realistic taking vacation this fall would be and how to approach taking it (e.g. mention to HR, staffing). How does a person change their mindset to be more positive? I feel like I’m meant for my job, but blame all my life problems on it….having no energy, being single at the age of 30, etc. and it seems like a never ending loop. I look for new jobs, realize I have a good job then am ok for a bit then start it all over again. When I’m off of work I’m fine and realize I have it pretty good. Only real negative is I can’t vacation with my family in March due to my busy time.

Should I take this role?
Pros: 50k bump, company is full remote, no time tracking software, unlimited PTO, 10k in quarterly bonuses, vertical move in responsibility and title, will set me up for future roles in different companies with the title I am looking for (so strategic move)

Cons: Its a startup, the solution they offer is adjacent to my desired industry, its a very small team so I wouldn’t grow my network as much, tech stipend for new laptop (but they don’t provide a work one)

Anybody ever regret moving from B4 to a start up? Just because there’s so many less perks (lots of PTO, fun events, etc)?

Any of your agencies closed this week? We're "open" and were encouraged to use PTO if we we planned on being out. Now all the PMs are working because there's work to do and several of our clients are open, but there are no resources to do the work.
