I just go into what my skills and experience are. I’ve never really felt like it’s a loaded question, and I’d definitely not compare myself to others.

Yes agreed!
I agree with Associate 1. I would focus on your skills and experience. I always tell them I am willing to learn anything, will work hard, and will not let them down.
I highlight my skills and experience that would translate into the position, but I also try to be as excited as I can about the position. Eagerness will go a long way
I’d reply: I can’t possibly know if I’m the best candidate since I don’t know who the other candidates are, so you tell me. It’s like me asking you “why should I accept an offer from you” or “what makes this job the best job I’ve interviewed”
I would answer and end with a question towards them: is there anything I’m missing from the criteria for this job? That way you have the opportunity to give examples…or you have something to consider too. I interviewed recently for a job, and they said they weren’t sure if my personality could handle the personalities there.
