How do you constantly improve yourself?
For background, I’m 25, work in a front office role in banking, very happy with my comp and have recently passed the CFA exams. I’m not looking to change roles/do a full time MBA as I have a fantastic client base, bright colleagues and great career progression prospects. However, I want to make sure I’m working on myself in some way (part time postgrad/ side hustle?). Looking for inspiration!

Maybe consider working on yourself outside of your job: building expertise in a hobby, making new friends, going to therapy, etc

like

Definitely hobbies - hobbies are a great point of conversation, help w having things in common with others, can opens doors, makes your life feel more fulfilling, exposes you to a different circle of humans, makes you a better round individual, nice way to relax when you have a bad day, etc. I used to have a ton of hobbies (for now my kids are my hobbies) ie: was part of a free poker club, drummer/musician in a band/ just played for fun, resume/career consulting, workout fanatic.

What do you like to do? Make sure to set time aside for yourself even if it's just doing nothing. Take time to reflect on how you feel, where you are spiritually, and what you want in your life.

Are you looking to improve career wise or are we talking about life in general? If it's for your career path, attend more seminars to gain more knowledge about your path and volunteer to enhance career development. Also, use it as a means for networking. If yu're looking to improve as yourself, start being more intentional and being consciously present in your own life. Eat healthy and be more holistic with the things you consume. Start going to the gym or even just initiate an at-home workout regimen. You can even go to therapy. Overall, improve your lifestyle.

I would say hobbies, and also...side hustles! I do consulting for nonprofits on the side and it's been a great way to build myself up professionally while also gaining some more entrepreneurial skills. Plus it's a side hustle so I don't stress when it ebbs and flows workload wise

Hi! Are you talking about career growth or personal growth? When it comes to personal growth, make sure that you are also doing the things that you like.

When building a new brand who is the real client? Who has the final say?Who should you really listen to if no one is taking the lead? The president of the company, the original owner, the financial money partner, the third party manager? Everyone seems to have a voice but the main contact is the underling gathering and offering their own opinion which strangely seems to be the most on point. How do you handle this type of situation?

I’ve only slept with one person, my wife. I have not openly shared this with anyone because there’s a stigma that I “settled” or I don’t have numbers on the board like a man should. I’m not overly religious, so that was never a driver in the equation. I admit, I do think about the “what if” every once in awhile but I’m honestly getting to the age where I feel I’m beyond my prime anyhow.
