Anyone ever applied and been offered a job they weren’t qualified according to the posting? Job I’m interested in is asking for 7 years of experience, and I have 5. But, I’m pretty positive I could preform all the responsibilities. It’s for a Director of Accounting role - I’m currently a Supervisor that will be promoted to Manager this summer.

I am in a situation where we’ve got a junior employee who while technically solid is very, very behind when it comes to interpersonal interaction and understanding how a “real job” works. We’ve been working with them a ton to try and get them up to speed, but it’s not working. At what point do you call it a day and let them move in to other opportunities? We are seeing with all junior employees this same sort of pattern (thanks covid) to different degrees and don’t want it to be a larger issue.
