How do you get a position teaching a seminar at a law school? My law school had a “Spanish for lawyers” and similar language classes, I would be interested in teaching something like that even if in a smaller law school or online but I don’t even know where to start.

Just be aware you will make almost zilch for such an engagement. And if you’re at a firm, it may require you to remit your compensation to the firm or decline payment… Also - such roles almost never lead to professorship offers.

I just want to do it for fun and because I think I would be a good fit for such a role!

Reach out the the school and let them know your interest. Sometimes they have jobs posted for profs for specific subjects so check their website too

I’m currently a Grade 11 at Cisco. With the recent pay structure changes my annual comp will be $150k + 12% bonus. I live in a large metro area in the middle of the US. I’m looking to move around the company so that I can make commission but I don’t want to be an account manager. Can anyone tell me if there are Customer Success Managers, etc positions that manage customers post sale and have a similar range base as me with commission plans? I’m just trying to understand income potential.

Received an offer for a Product Manager role from a midsized financial services company for $120k base + 15% bonus. Currently making $130k + 15% bonus in consulting with 4 yoe. Is this a good offer? Should I ask for more base or signing bonus? Or is this pretty fair? Very inexperienced in salary negotiations.

Cross-posting: What was your narrative in interviews for wanting to leave biglaw? Presumably you didn't just say I hate working 60+ hours per week in a disgustingly inefficient, top-heavy organization.

I have been overworked and overwhelmed at my current job for quite a while. This is my first position out of law school, small firm with large caseload, and in my second year of practice. I often think I should look for another opportunity elsewhere but I don't know that any other firms would give me the potential for growth and experience that I am getting here. What are other 2nd year associates doing at other firms? Trying to gauge if I really am getting more opportunities here
