I walked away from a partner track litigation role a while back in big law. I rode a motorcycle to California and back. Then finally people started to look at my resume. The pay can be a pretty dramatic departure. But I can count on a single hand the number of bad days since leaving (I was at 3/week before). Happy to chat.
Happy to chat about my experience. My only concern is most of those roles are W2 which can be difficult if not physically in your barred jurisdiction (taxes and UPL).
I'm not technically a recruiter but I work for Thompson Reuters and get referral bonuses for referring people to rules PM me and let me know if you're interested in some opportunities
Also interested. Could people help me out with a couple hearts so I can PM
There's the Former Lawyer podcast. She helps attorneys find non attorney roles.
Following - in the same situation looking for non litigation/non practicing roles
Become a recruiter
Considered it but I have zero interest in it.
I will venture a guess here and say that recruiters will likely not work on nonpracticing roles because the pay is less and their commission is based on your salary, I believe. In addition, NP/JD pref positions tend to be in law firms, and law firms (1) hire from within for many of those, and (2) don't want to pay recruiters for candidates that ultimately will not bill hours. If you're at a firm now, I'd discreetly put out feelers for these staff positions within your firm, and scour the internet in your free time.
