Assume it’s a rejection and move on. What’s there to handle here ?
The glass door reviews for the company mentioned very emphatic and human centric. But looks like it’s not!
I got a rejection letter two years after I interviewed for a role…
I'm still waiting 9 months after a 5 round interview process with a firm. My profile status still says status interviewing.
You are not in the ghosting phase yet. Could be 2 weeks for them to sort the last round interviews, drum up an offer letter and deliver.
Rising Star
You could always reach out and call the recruiter to ask for an update. Sometimes there are many reasons why a company might not be able to reach a decision right away
@Programmer there is really no such thing as a "top candidate" in this job market. A company's preferred candidate can do the work of 10 people for $1 an hour, 24 hours a day, with no breaks or benefits, and ideally you'll donate $1 per hour to the CEO's charity yacht fund. And the work accuracy has to be well above the abysmal rates of LLMs.
Anything less than that is an "expense" and a "liability".
At this point you’re not being ghosted. You interviewed last week. Interviews are often scheduled a few days to a week in advance and they’re going to give other candidates who have been scheduled after you a fair chance.
You said yourself they took 3-4 weeks to complete the interviews; there are many factors that could lead to a longer turnaround.
From my own experience, if you are hitting the two week mark it’s safe to assume you’re not a standout candidate.
I'd just reach back out to the recruiter to ask. If you haven't heard back in like a week I'd consider it a rejection/ghost.
Just keep on chugging.
I reachout them and they told me
This
“We are in the interview stages so far, and hiring manger is continuing reviewing candidates. As soon as ihave a status update, i will let you know”
This means i am not the top candidate, okay got it. But is it a soft reject or what?
I relate unfortunately for the internal team of the company I applied to I had asked a basic question of salary and the recruiter said I should hear back from their HR team. 4 days passed and I was given another job offer in that time, if they committed to giving us genuine communication that was appropriate enough then they would not have an issue finding people to fill the roles they keep re-hiring for. I'd like to say that also taking 4 days to answer a simple question that not even that companies HR team could reply to shows their lack of communication and even their reliability to me as an employee. I felt lied to and given a glimpse into how disarrayed everything would have been if I had worked there.
