Got a random email from a supposed Amazon recruiter for a SDE position (which is not at all a fit). The email is amazon.com domain and there are no red flags in the body but it doesn't feel like an Amazon recruiter due to the tacky signature, etc. Has anyone seen this kind of cold-calling from FAANG recruiter?

It's really easy as a undergrad campus hire. Not sure for direct hire consultants/experienced hire. People started asking me about when I was going to apply for GSAP after 6 months at the firm. 10-25% apply after 2 years at the firm, another 50% ish apply after 3 years and the rest apply after that, have already left the firm.

Yes, it's why everyone at m7 business schools is a sponsored deloitte consultant. I think Kellogg had over 40 my year.
@OP not everyone gets accepted. Some misinformation above. Depending on the Service Area (S&O, Tech, HC) the criteria is slightly different. The common thread across SA, you have to be a high performer. As a direct hire, the opportunity is the same.
Agreed with D3. It depends heavily on service area and office. For Technology in NY for example, only about 40% of those who applied the last three years have gotten it.
Does it matter if Federal or not?
I would but I'm on my way out. The catch of course is that you need to stay there 2 years to get the reimbursement in full. They are free to fire you at any point and you'd get nothing if you work less than 1 year, half if you work less than 2. This is also true if you get laid off (like a couple did back in March). GSAP is definitely nice but the firm knows it and takes advantage by giving people lower raises/bonuses to equal everything out. Plus everything is taxed as income so it's really like a 65K benefit after taxes.
All consultants eventually reach a point where they will likely make less in industry than they make in consulting (usually a few years into manager)
So people apply, do they generally get in?
If you're not going to get it everyone tells you not to apply. You need to have 3 partners sponsor you and your counselor will flat out tell you not to apply if they don't think you're going to get it. It's ridiculously easy to get as a campus hire but I believe DHCs hit a different service line so it's a bit harder to get approved.
S&O everyone gets it, tech and hc can be harder

Overall that's pretty amazing. Is the salary competitive with non gsap MBA hires?

All S&O Commercial MBAs start at $147K base + 40K signing? GSAP MBAs get an extra $25K if they sign and agree to return to Deloitte around 8/1 of their 2nd year (before the internship ends).

What kind of job are you taking D1? I've talked to gsapers and have heard some having difficulty in leaving Bc of the high salary they command for the years of work experience. Sounds like some may take a pay cut to pursue the career they want.
Makes sense. And being a sponsored candidate improves chance of acceptance at some schools but not others. Im surprised by the 40 number at Kellogg Bc their app has a comment that they don't consider it as part of your candidacy, but CBS makes you send a formal letter as proof (but has a lower GSAP acceptance rate).
Consultants like Kellogg because it's the most fun school
